October 20, 2026 at 01:24 PM

> AMD and Microsoft announce FSR 4.1 upscaling for Xbox consoles and handhelds, while Project Helix prepares to debut FSR Diamond technology.

**AMD** and **Microsoft** confirmed FSR 4.1 upscaling is coming to **Xbox Series X and Series S** consoles. Jack Huynh led the AMD presentation announcing the update, which also targets **ROG Ally** handhelds and Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs using RDNA 2 graphics architecture.

Handheld ROG Ally devices will receive FSR 4.1 before the home consoles. Meanwhile, Microsoft's next-generation **Project Helix** will leverage FSR Diamond technology, utilizing ML-based upscaling and multi-frame generation to improve performance and visual quality.

AMD plans to release a lighter FSR model for APUs like the Ryzen Z2 Extreme and Z2 A by the end of 2026. This follows Sony's announcement of the QSSR upscaler for the base PS5, marking a significant shift in how manufacturers handle console image enhancement.
