The **AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D** is reportedly hitting temperatures of 95°C under full load, with some users experiencing thermal throttling. Reports from **Reddit** user u/nathandrake84 and others indicate these peaks occur even when using high-end 360mm AIO coolers.

Users should note that updating the **BIOS** on motherboards like the **MSI X870 Tomahawk** can significantly improve thermals. In one case, a BIOS update reduced temperatures from 95°C to 86°C at 130W, addressing heat spikes seen during gaming and heavy workloads.

While AMD maintains that running Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series chips at maximum operating temperatures is acceptable, there is no official confirmation of a BIOS bug. These thermal reports highlight potential early firmware issues for the new **Zen 5** processors.
