AnyPS5 Achieves 100% GPU Shader Instruction Coverage

The AnyPS5 project reaches a major milestone in PS5 emulation by completing its shader recompiler and running Dreaming Sarah at 60 FPS.

The AnyPS5 project has achieved 100% coverage of its 1,166 tracked PlayStation 5 GPU shader instructions. These instructions, sourced from the AMD RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 lists, span categories like DS, FLAT, GLOBAL, MIMG, SMEM, SOP, and VOP for the decoder.

The software utilizes a relinker to convert PS5 executables into native Windows or Linux formats while providing system library replacements. Currently, the tracker shows 84.76% library implementation, with 2,575 of 3,038 tracked functions now completed.

This progress has enabled the 2D platformer Dreaming Sarah to run at a stable 60 FPS on a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and Core i5-7500. While the total number of tracked functions may increase, the shader recompiler successfully produces functional SPIR-V code.
