# Arm Unveils AGI CPU for Data Center AI Workloads

In October 2024, **Arm** announced its AGI CPU designed for data center agentic AI workloads. The company claims the new processor delivers twice the performance per rack compared to the **AMD EPYC 9755**, based on a suite of seven specific performance workloads.

Arm developed a new evaluation methodology with **Fujitsu**, Meta, and **OpenAI**, which was verified by **Signal65**. The AGI CPU showed a 20% average per-chip lead over AMD, including a 97% gain in fastText, though it lagged in MySQL and Milvus throughput tests.

The rack-level advantage stems from power efficiency, allowing 21 to 23 Arm servers per 24 kW rack versus 13 for AMD. While Signal65 reproduced the calculations within 0.5%, the independent analysis did not include a separate hardware rerun in a laboratory.
