Asus has issued a critical BIOS update to fix a memory access vulnerability affecting motherboards for 8th and 9th Gen Intel processors.

Asus has released a critical BIOS update to patch a security vulnerability affecting motherboards for 8th and 9th Gen Intel CPUs. Designated as CVE-2026-93495, the flaw allows a physically proximate user to read or write arbitrary memory via a crafted device.

The vulnerability carries a severity score of 7.0. In a security bulletin issued October 1, 2026, Asus recommended that users of affected ROG Strix and ROG Maximus models update immediately. This follows a separate high-severity software flaw found in August.

Users can download the necessary firmware updates directly from the Asus support website. The company also provides a dedicated guide for performing the BIOS update within Windows to ensure systems remain protected against unauthorized local memory access.
