DLSS 5 Mod Brings AI Upscaling to Original Doom

YouTuber Nikolai Zhivotenko uses a custom DLSS Swapper tool to integrate DLSS 5 into a Windows port of the classic 1993 shooter.

YouTuber Nikolai Zhivotenko has successfully applied DLSS 5 to the original Doom using the DLSS Swapper tool. Developed by rakanki911 and available on GitHub, the mod targets a custom Windows port of the Linux version of Doom v1.10 rather than the Steam release.

The implementation introduces notable visual changes, including polished textures and HUD elements, though it unexpectedly alters Doomguy’s hair color. Users should note that the mod remains inconsistent, causing blurriness and instability during high-motion scenes.

While the project demonstrates the versatility of DLSS 5, it impacts CPU usage and overall performance stability. Interested developers can access the source files via Zhivotenko’s niko-zvt GitHub page to explore this experimental integration further.
