# Gigabyte Prepares New Intel LGA1700 Motherboards

[Gigabyte](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/gigabyte-technology-q697675>) is currently preparing new B760 and H610 motherboards to support an upcoming line of [Intel](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/intel-q248>) [LGA1700](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/lga-1700-q97354306>) processors expected to launch in early 2027. These new boards will require a BIOS update to maintain compatibility with the future hardware release.

The upcoming processors feature a versatile memory controller supporting both DDR4 and DDR5. This follows Intel VP **Robert Hallock**'s confirmation that [Raptor Lake](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/raptor-lake-q111303806>) chips will remain in the portfolio for years, extending the life of the 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen.

This platform longevity offers significant cost flexibility for builders. While a 32GB DDR5-6000 kit costs approximately $480, a comparable DDR4-3600 kit is priced at $210, allowing users to choose between cutting-edge speed or more affordable memory options.
