Google and five PC manufacturers—Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo—have officially unveiled the first Googlebook laptops. These devices, starting at $899 and reaching $1,299, will be available at retail on October 4 with Intel Core Ultra or Snapdragon X Elite chips.
The laptops feature at least 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, weighing under 2.85 pounds with 14-hour battery lives. New AI tools include Gemini Magic Pointer and Gemini Rambler, while Android 17 integration allows users to open phone apps and files directly.
This launch marks a significant hardware push, offering 10 years of updates and a year of Google AI Pro with 5TB of storage. With high-end OLED displays and powerful processors, Googlebooks aim to compete in the premium market through deep ecosystem synergy.
