Intel to Launch Nova Lake Xeon E-Series in 2027

Intel's upcoming Nova Lake Xeon E-series will feature non-hybrid P-Core and E-Core SKUs supported by the new W980 chipset platform.

is preparing to launch its Nova Lake Xeon E-series processors, which will feature distinct P-Core only or E-Core only SKUs. The P-Core lineup offers 4 to 16 cores, while E-Core models scale up to 32 cores. These chips will not include hybrid designs.

The platform is powered by the W980 chipset, supporting native DDR5 ECC memory and 48 PCIe lanes, including 12 PCIe 5.0 lanes. It features DMI 5.0 x4 with 128 Gbps bandwidth, Intel vPro technology, and dual 40 Gbps USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 ports from the CPU.

While hybrid core configurations are reserved for Nova Lake-S desktop processors, the Xeon E-series provides flexible PCIe segmentation and dual Gen 5 M.2 slots. These new designs and the W980 platform are expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2027.
