# Intel to Rival AMD 3D V-Cache with Nova Lake BFC

> Intel's upcoming Core Ultra Series 4 Nova Lake CPUs will feature a new big last-level cache tile to compete with AMD's gaming performance.

**Intel** is developing a direct competitor to **AMD**'s 3D V-Cache technology for its upcoming **Core Ultra Series 4** **Nova Lake** desktop processors. Leaked documents identify the feature as **bLLC**, or big last-level cache, which Intel will market under the BFC brand extension.

The new architecture utilizes a cache tile positioned beside the Compute tile to implement bLLC, differing from AMD's method of stacking L3 cache on the CCD. The Core Ultra Series 4 will feature 4-digit model numbers, including K, KF, and the new BFC variants.

This move marks a significant shift in Intel's strategy to match AMD's gaming performance advantages. By integrating larger cache capacities through the BFC extension, Intel aims to close the gap in memory-intensive workloads and high-end desktop computing.
