# Intel Unveils D-Series Crescent Island AI Cards

**Intel** has officially announced its D-series **Crescent Island** inference graphics cards, headlined by the flagship **D270** SKU. Based on the **Xe3P** GPU microarchitecture, the D270 features 32 Xe3P cores and 256 XMX engines utilizing 16-deep processing for AI tasks.

The hardware includes 32 MB of unified L2 cache, 1 MB of register files per core, and 512 KB of L1 cache per core. Designed for AI inferencing, the 350W PCIe 5.0 x16 card supports FP4 and FP8 formats, 480 GB of **LPDDR5X**, and handles a 100K context window.

While it lacks graphics output elements, the air-cooled accelerator includes a media engine with four encoders and decoders. This specialized silicon, revealed via a bare die shot on Intel's site, prioritizes high-density vector and matrix engine performance.
