# Micron Debuts World's First 512GB DDR5 Module

September 16, 2026 at 11:05 AM

> Micron's new 512GB DDR5 module offers 9,200 MT/s speeds and 60% power savings for high-performance server and AI infrastructure.

**Micron Technology** (Nasdaq: MU) has demonstrated the world's first 512 GB **DDR5** module, achieving speeds up to 9,200 MT/s. The module uses vertical interconnect packaging to stack DRAM dies via through-silicon vias, with volume production expected in late 2027.

AMD and Intel are currently validating the module for server platforms. According to Micron, this 512 GB RDIMM reduces operating power by over 60% compared to four 128 GB RDIMMs and enables up to 12 TB of DDR5 DRAM in a single 24-slot dual-socket server system.

The high-capacity module delivers 1.4 times higher performance for Spark SVM-based data analytics than 256 GB configurations. Industry leaders from AMD, Intel, and JPMorganChase highlighted the module's impact on compute, enterprise AI, and infrastructure.
