Microsoft has expanded its Automatic Super Resolution support to include Intel's upcoming Panther Lake mobile platform. The OS-level feature, introduced in 2024, provides resolution upscaling for NPU-powered devices and Intel Core Ultra Series 3 designs.
The technology applies upscaling to almost any DirectX 10 or later game without requiring native integration. Microsoft recommends it for titles like Assassin's Creed Shadows and Avowed, though native XeSS is still preferred when available for Intel GPUs.
Testing on the Intel Arc B390 GPU shows Assassin's Creed Valhalla hitting 52 FPS at 1600p using the tool. While the current goal is 60 FPS for mobile devices, Microsoft aims to reach 90-120 FPS targets in future iterations of the built-in Windows feature.
