New AI-Powered Mod Fixes Oblivion Performance

Developer LTSharpe uses Claude AI to deliver 40 engine optimizations and a 40 percent FPS boost for the classic RPG's remastered mod.

Reddit user LTSharpe has released the v1.0.0 beta of the Oblivion Remastered Performance Fix, an open-source mod developed using Anthropic's . The tool introduces 40 engine-level optimizations, including improved multithreading and memory management.

The developer spent over two weeks on AI-assisted reverse engineering to address CPU bottlenecks and traversal stuttering. Benchmarks on a Ryzen 7 5800X system show average frame rates jumping from 72 to 102 FPS while maintaining Lumen ray-traced lighting.

This release significantly reduces traversal hitches and adds machine-learning-based FSR Frame Generation for GPUs. By publishing the source code and benchmarking tools, the creator offers a reproducible fix for long-standing engine limitations.
