New Tools Enable Custom VBIOS on NVIDIA RTX GPUs

Developer Panchovix releases open-source loaders for RTX 50, 40, and 30-series GPUs to bypass power limits without flashing hardware.

Developer Panchovix released three tools for RTX 50, 40, and 30-series GPUs that enable modified VBIOS usage without flashing the card's chip. The Windows loader uses registry overrides, while the version patches open kernel modules for the GSP.

The editor adjusts power limits, voltage ceilings, and clock offsets for Windows and Linux. Testing on an RTX 5090 Founders Edition showed power ceilings rising from 600W to 700W, while an RTX 4090 reached 750W. Laptop RTX 40 GPUs are currently unsupported.

These open-source loaders bypass NVIDIA's signature checks by loading custom images during startup. While memory timings remain locked to the physical flash chip, the tools allow an RTX 5080 to hit 500W, overcoming previous limits set by NVIDIA in August.
