# Nintendo Switch 2 Hacked as New Emulator Debuts

November 2, 2026 at 12:30 PM

> Modders have jailbroken the Nintendo Switch 2, leading to the release of Eglantine, a new emulator capable of running Mario Kart World.

The **Nintendo Switch 2** has been hacked roughly sixteen and a half months after its June 2025 debut. The jailbreak occurred just over a week before October 31, 2026, leading modder **Takoroka** to release an experimental integration for the existing Eden emulator.

Developer **Camille LaVey** has since launched **Eglantine**, a free C++ emulator for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Derived from Eden, Yuzu, and Sudachi, the software already runs the exclusive **Mario Kart World** at full speed on PCs and mobile devices like the iPhone 18 Pro.

While Splatoon Raiders is playable at variable frame rates, Takoroka noted that missing meshes are due to unimplemented shaders. This development follows Nintendo's previous legal actions which successfully shut down the popular Yuzu and Ryujinx emulators.
