> Nvidia shifts GB202 silicon allocation from GeForce RTX 5090 to professional workstation cards amid high prices and supply constraints.

[Nvidia](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/nvidia-q182477>) has reportedly halted new allocations of **GB202** GPU supplies for the **GeForce RTX 5090**, according to claims from MEGAsizeGPU. The [Blackwell](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/blackwell-microarchitecture-q125210777>)-based silicon is now being prioritized for the professional market, specifically for Nvidia RTX Pro graphics cards.

Current market conditions show GeForce RTX 5090 prices hovering around $5,000 following reports of connector burnout issues. While the RTX 50 Super lineup is not expected to use the GB202 die, Nvidia recently expanded its workstation range with the **RTX Pro 5500**.

This supply shift occurs as Blackwell GPUs have been available since early 2025. With multiple leakers pointing toward a 2028 release window for the GeForce RTX 60 series, gamers may face a prolonged period of limited high-end consumer GPU availability.
