> A Chinese repair center reports a surge in damaged Nvidia GPUs featuring melted power interfaces, including the new RTX 5090 Founders Edition.

A Chinese repair center recently received seven **Nvidia** GPUs with melted 12+4-pin power interfaces in just two days. According to the YouTube channel **Zhang the Computer Repairman**, the damaged hardware includes **RTX 4090** and the new **RTX 5090** Founders Edition.

The affected units from Asus, MSI, and Gainward exhibited burned sockets and blackened PCBs. Zhang noted that failing cards often show a voltage drop to 11.3V in GPU-Z. Repairs involved cleaning contacts and soldering new sockets before 3DMark testing.

These failures, affecting both lab and consumer systems, highlight ongoing power delivery risks for high-end GPUs. While Zhang successfully restored the cards, **Super Flower** has now released an OCP dongle to provide early warnings for potential power issues.
