# Raspberry Pi 5 16GB Price Rises to $385

> The Raspberry Pi Foundation has increased the price of its 16GB Raspberry Pi 5 model by 26 percent due to a global DRAM supply crisis.

The **Raspberry Pi Foundation** has announced a significant price hike for the **Raspberry Pi 5** with 16GB of RAM, raising the MSRP from $305 to $385. This 26 percent increase follows a similar price adjustment for the 2GB model implemented earlier this October.

The **Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5** with 16GB of RAM is also seeing a $40 price increase, though the **Raspberry Pi 500+** keyboard computer remains at its original price. Officials recommend that customers consider lower-RAM models and avoid unofficial sellers.

A global **DRAM** crisis and rising production costs are driving these changes, fueled by high demand from AI data centers and limited memory chip sources. The Foundation intends to lower prices once market conditions stabilize and the supply crisis subsides.
