> Samsung Electronics expects a significant recovery in its foundry business as high demand for advanced nodes drives down operating losses.

[Samsung Electronics](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/samsung-electronics-q20718>) is poised for a significant financial recovery in its foundry business. [Kiwoom Securities](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/kiwoom-securities-q12620803>) projects a 41.8 percent reduction in annual operating losses for non-memory divisions, dropping from $5.1 billion in 2025 to $2.95 billion in 2026.

The turnaround is supported by high demand for advanced nodes. Utilization rates for Samsung's 8nm and smaller processes have reached maximum capacity. Quarterly foundry losses are now expected to narrow to approximately $572 million as production scales up.

Samsung is leveraging its integrated model to secure custom [AI accelerator](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/neural-processing-unit-q24895600>) agreements. By using its **4nm process** for [HBM4](<https://hardwarebrief.com/entity/high-bandwidth-memory-q20723936>) base dies and offering end-to-end packaging solutions, the firm is strengthening its position against rivals in the global AI market.
