Samsung Q3 Profit Surges 782% to Record High

Samsung Electronics posts a record 107.4 trillion Won quarterly profit as HBM4E chips reportedly pass Nvidia's rigorous testing phase.

Samsung Electronics has released its preliminary third-quarter earnings, estimating an operating profit of 107.4 trillion Won ($71.5 billion) on revenue of 195 trillion Won ($130 billion). This marks a massive 782.5% profit surge over the previous year.

The results slightly exceeded analyst expectations of 106.64 trillion Won in profit, though revenue fell short of the 200.64 trillion Won forecast. Notably, Samsung is the first South Korean firm to surpass 100 trillion Won in quarterly operating profit.

While divisional data is pending, analysts credit the memory chip sector, which likely earned 110 trillion Won. Growth is driven by double-digit DRAM price hikes and reports that Samsung's HBM4E memory chips have successfully passed Nvidia's testing phase.
