# Sony and Back Market Launch PS5 Trade-In Program

> Gamers can receive up to $400 for PlayStation 5 consoles as trade-in options expand ahead of the Grand Theft Auto VI launch this month.

**Sony** has partnered with **Back Market** to launch a new trade-in program for **PlayStation 5** consoles, offering up to $400 in cash. This promotion applies to standard PS5 units in Grade 0 condition with two controllers for orders placed through September 22, 2026.

The online tool currently values a flawless PS5 Pro at $756, while a standard PS5 in great condition with one controller fetches $408. Meanwhile, **Microsoft** and Best Buy are offering up to $375 for Xbox Series X|S trades as hardware prices remain volatile.

These trade-in options arrive ahead of **Grand Theft Auto VI**, which launches November 19, 2026. With preloading starting November 12, gamers are looking to offset high hardware costs, such as the $899.99 PS5 Pro MSRP or the $1,644.99 price seen on Amazon.com.
