UNCANNY Neural Remastering Engine Alpha Released

Developer imissanyway has released the first public alpha of UNCANNY, a real-time neural remastering engine for PC games and emulators. Utilizing NVIDIA DLSS 5 neural rendering, the project has been demonstrated on the PCSX2 emulator with titles like BLACK.

The engine features a reconstruction pipeline with up to three passes and includes motion and ghosting protection. It also integrates REVENANT, an experimental asset reconstruction system. While available on GitHub, it currently faces DirectX compatibility issues.

UNCANNY aims to provide a single runtime for enhancing legacy visuals, as seen in shared Spider-Man screenshots. As AMD develops its own neural rendering tech, this alpha marks a significant step in AI-driven game preservation and real-time remastering tools.
