> Valve's upcoming Plano headset features Micro-OLED displays and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, according to leaked Linux kernel source code.

**Valve** is reportedly developing an upgraded **Steam Frame** headset, codenamed **Plano**, featuring high-end Micro-OLED displays. References to the new hardware were discovered in the Steam Frame's Linux kernel source code, indicating a significant hardware shift.

The Plano device features a native resolution of 3,552 x 3,840 pixels per eye, utilizing the same Micro-OLED panels found in the **Samsung Galaxy XR**. It is powered by the **Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3** processor, which includes the integrated Adreno 750 GPU.

To manage display bandwidth, Valve is developing foveated scaling via the display controller. While the panels support 90 Hz, Valve is testing 120 Hz modes to bridge the gap with the current Steam Frame's 144 Hz limit, which retails for up to $1,299.
