CPU startup Nuvacore, founded by former Apple, Nuvia, and Qualcomm veterans Gerard Williams III, John Bruno, and Ram Srinivasan, has unveiled its "Core First" development model. The firm is currently building a general-purpose processor codenamed WarpCore.
Led by SVP David Williamson, a former Apple CPU leader, Nuvacore's strategy prioritizes building foundational IP before selecting an ISA. While hiring for RISC-V, Arm64, and x86 roles, the firm has not yet finalized a specific architecture for WarpCore.
The startup is actively recruiting engineers for out-of-order execution, branch prediction, and memory subsystems. Though the Core First model is public, Nuvacore has not revealed the pipeline configuration, process node, or tape-out schedule for the chip.
