Qualcomm announced official Linux support for the Snapdragon X2 series at the Snapdragon Summit 2026. The lineup includes the Snapdragon X2 Plus, X2 Elite, and X2 Elite Extreme. An Early Developer Preview is available now for the new processor generation.
Qualcomm has worked since autumn 2025 to integrate support into the mainline Linux kernel, targeting completion by November 2026. Debian will be the first supported distribution in late 2026, followed by Ubuntu and hardware from Asus, HP, and Humain in 2027.
Linux joins Windows and Googlebooks as the third supported OS for the X series. The effort includes Hexagon NPU support for local AI and open-source Mesa drivers for Adreno GPUs. Qualcomm will not provide retroactive support for first-gen Snapdragon X chips.
