Steam Revenue Hits Record $1.7 Billion in September

Valve's Steam platform reached record monthly revenue in September 2026, driven by strong sales of Wardogs and third-quarter growth.

Steam generated an estimated $1.7 billion in September 2026, marking a 13% increase over the previous record set in September 2025. According to Alinea Analytics, third-quarter revenue reached $5.5 billion, representing a 12% year-over-year growth for Valve.

Wardogs led premium game sales with $86.9 million following its September 10 launch. Other top performers included Onimusha: Way of the Sword at $30.4 million and The Blood of Dawnwalker at $26.9 million, while major free-to-play titles earned $168 million.

Total revenue for the first nine months of 2026 hit $16.5 billion, up from $14.5 billion in 2025. Analysts now expect Steam to exceed $20 billion in annual revenue for the first time, even as Valve continues its policy of not publishing official figures.
