Valve Releases SteamOS 3.9.5 Update

SteamOS 3.9.5 debuts Linux kernel 7.2, KDE Plasma 6.7.3, and critical performance fixes for handheld devices and major gaming titles.

has officially released 3.9.5, a significant update featuring 7.2 and the KDE Plasma 6.7.3 desktop environment. The release introduces a new wpa_supplicant WLAN backend and preliminary support for a system-wide hibernation mode.

The update addresses crashes in Forza Horizon 6 on Lenovo Legion Go 2 and fixes GPU issues in The Crew Motorfest. It also resolves Intel Panther Lake CPU bugs in Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, while fixing fan control errors on Asus devices after sleep mode.

This version optimizes Star Wars: Galactic Racer performance and improves power efficiency during audio silence. While hibernation is currently disabled on Steam Deck due to drivers, the update adds brightness control for the Lenovo Legion Go 2.
