Acer Predator Atlas 8 Gaming Handheld Launches

Acer's Predator Atlas 8 arrives at Best Buy for $1,299.99, featuring an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and an 8-inch 120Hz VRR display.

The Acer Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld has officially launched in the United States via Best Buy with an October 23 release date. Priced at $1,299.99, the US configuration features an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor with Arc B390 integrated graphics, 24GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 512GB SSD. The device is currently listed as out of stock.

The handheld sports an 8-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR support. Weighing 810 grams, it includes an 80Wh battery, TMR analog sticks, Hall-effect triggers, and Wi-Fi 7. Performance tests by YouTuber ETA PRIME show a 3DMark Time Spy score of 6,607 and over 70 FPS in Forza Horizon 6 at 1200p medium settings.

Acer’s entry competes with the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, which costs $1,799 for a 32GB/1TB setup. While the US Atlas 8 model has a smaller 512GB SSD compared to the 1TB UK version, it features a replaceable M.2 2280 slot and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports. The Windows 11 device offers a high-end alternative in the growing Intel-based handheld market.
