OptiScaler Mod Brings AMD FSR 4.1.2 to Intel Arc

Modders successfully port AMD FSR 4.1.2 to Intel Arc GPUs, leveraging XMX cores for hardware acceleration via modified INT8 DLLs.

The OptiScaler modding community has successfully ported AMD FSR 4.1.2 upscaling models to GPUs. By utilizing modified INT8 DLLs, the implementation leverages Intel's dedicated XMX cores for hardware acceleration via a -based execution path.

Benchmarks show competitive performance, with an Intel Arc B580 running Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at 1080p achieving a 0.59 ms upscaling time using FSR 4.1.2 Lite. On an Arc A770 in The Witcher 3, FSR 4.1.2 Lite reached 101.5 FPS, slightly outperforming XeSS SR.

While FSR 4.1.2 Lite targets mobile chips and APUs with lower latency, the full model remains slower than native XeSS. Users should note that this mod currently faces stability issues, with reported crashes in specific titles such as the Crimson Desert demo.
