Nvidia Halts RTX 5090 GPU Supply for Pro Market

Nvidia shifts GB202 silicon allocation from GeForce RTX 5090 to professional workstation cards amid high prices and supply constraints.

Nvidia has reportedly halted new allocations of GB202 GPU supplies for the GeForce RTX 5090, according to claims from MEGAsizeGPU. The Blackwell-based silicon is now being prioritized for the professional market, specifically for Nvidia RTX Pro graphics cards.

Current market conditions show GeForce RTX 5090 prices hovering around $5,000 following reports of connector burnout issues. While the RTX 50 Super lineup is not expected to use the GB202 die, Nvidia recently expanded its workstation range with the RTX Pro 5500.

This supply shift occurs as Blackwell GPUs have been available since early 2025. With multiple leakers pointing toward a 2028 release window for the GeForce RTX 60 series, gamers may face a prolonged period of limited high-end consumer GPU availability.
