GIGABYTE has announced that its Z790, B760, and H610 motherboards will support Intel's upcoming Raptor Lake NEXT processors through a BIOS update. While Z790 models offer out-of-the-box compatibility, both DDR4 and DDR5 versions will support the new chips.
Intel is scheduled to launch the Raptor Lake NEXT lineup in early 2027, a timeframe confirmed by GIGABYTE in a recent blog post. These processors utilize the existing LGA 1700 socket and architecture, with leaks suggesting a top-end SKU featuring 20 cores.
This release extends the life of the LGA 1700 platform with variants ranging from 4-core to 16-core mid-range configurations. By maintaining architectural consistency, GIGABYTE ensures that current PC builders can upgrade without replacing their hardware.
