LG Display Starts Production of 720Hz OLED Panel

LG Display begins mass production of a 24.5-inch esports OLED panel featuring a 720Hz refresh rate and 0.02ms response time.

LG Display has officially commenced full-scale production of a new 24.5-inch OLED panel specifically engineered for the esports market. Announced on September 21, 2026, the display features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and utilizes Tandem WOLED technology.

The panel achieves a maximum refresh rate of 720Hz by switching to a lower-resolution mode, while maintaining 540Hz at its native 1080p resolution. It boasts a 0.02ms gray-to-gray response time and a display interval of approximately 1.39 milliseconds per frame.

ASUS has already showcased the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, which is reported to utilize this high-speed panel. While the hardware represents a significant milestone for competitive gaming performance, LG Display has not yet announced retail pricing for the unit.
