Luumi Breaks 12-Year-Old Core i5 4670K Record

Overclocker Luumi sets a new Cinebench R11.5 world record by pushing Intel's Haswell CPU to 6.3 GHz using liquid nitrogen cooling.

Renowned overclocker Luumi has set a new HWBot world record using the Intel Core i5 4670K processor. Achieving a score of 10.8 cb in the Cinebench R11.5 multicore benchmark, the feat successfully toppled a standing record that had remained unbeaten for 12 years.

The record-breaking system utilized an ASRock Z97 OC Formula motherboard, 4GB of XPG DDR3 RAM, and a Corsair AXi 1600 power supply. Running on Windows 7 64-bit Pro, Luumi applied liquid nitrogen cooling to push the 22nm CPU to a massive frequency of 6,301.00 MHz.

This milestone demonstrates the longevity of Intel's Haswell architecture. Originally featuring a 3.4 GHz base clock and 84W TDP, the 4-core, 4-thread i5 4670K remains a popular target for enthusiasts looking to push legacy hardware to its absolute limits.
