Marvell Unveils Structera X CXL Memory Expanders

Marvell Technology announces second-generation CXL 3.2 memory expanders featuring PCIe 6.0 support and post-quantum cryptography security.

Marvell Technology, Inc. announced its second-generation Structera X 3406 and 3506 CXL 3.2 memory expanders on October 12, 2026. These new models follow the first-generation 2404 and 2504, with sampling for the latest hardware expected in the first quarter of 2027.

The Structera X 3406 supports 18 DDR4 slots and 9 TB of memory, while the 3506 handles 12 DDR5 slots and 6 TB. Both feature six memory channels, 256 GB/s PCIe 6.0 bandwidth, and 250 GB/s LZ4 compression. Security includes Caliptra 2.0 and post-quantum cryptography.

These expanders enable memory capacity sharing with up to four hosts, utilizing StructGuard RAS for error correction. The series joins Marvell's CXL portfolio alongside Structera A near-memory acceleration and the Photonic Fabric Memory Appliance (PFMA) system.
