New FoveatedDLSS5 Mod Boosts DLSS 5 Performance

Developer maximedgoulet releases an open-source ReShade mod that uses foveated rendering to increase frame rates by up to 63 percent.

Developer maximedgoulet has released FoveatedDLSS5, a new open-source ReShade mod that brings VR-style foveated processing to Neural Rendering. This modification of the RenoDX add-on keeps the screen center at full resolution while reducing edge quality.

The mod compresses images into a smaller processing grid before AI upscaling. In tests using a at 7680 x 2160 in , performance jumped 63% from 49 to 80 FPS. The default setup processes roughly 71% of the original pixel count.

DLSS 5 modding now supports RTX 40, 30, and 20 series GPUs, alongside AMD and Intel hardware. While FoveatedDLSS5 uses a fixed center, the related CheekyFoveatedDLSS mod offers experimental eye tracking to move the high-quality rendering area dynamically.
