Developer VantaCode420 has released Smart HDR Manager, a free, open-source Windows utility that automatically toggles HDR based on detected content. Currently in beta, the tool runs in the system tray and reverts to SDR when compatible media is closed.
The utility scans , Epic, GOG, and Xbox libraries, allowing for per-game delays and manual additions. It supports YouTube HDR via a Tampermonkey script, local players like VLC and MPC-HC, NVIDIA RTX Video HDR, and windowed playback on specific monitors.
Operating without telemetry, admin rights, or memory injection, the app includes OBS recording safeguards. Tested on with an RTX 5070 Ti, standalone and .NET builds are now available for download through the project's official page.
