AMD Chip Prices Set to Rise Due to TSMC Hikes

A new report indicates AMD hardware prices will increase as TSMC plans a 10% manufacturing cost hike affecting GPUs and AI accelerators.

A report from ChannelGate, shared by X user harukaze5719, indicates a general price increase for all products featuring AMD chips. The supply chain platform suggests that TSMC plans to raise manufacturing costs by 10% due to escalating production expenses.

The potential price adjustments are expected to impact AI accelerators, graphics cards, and motherboard chipsets. While not officially confirmed, manufacturers are already preparing for higher procurement costs, which could be implemented by Q4 2026.

This shift follows a six-month price climb for the Radeon RX 9070 series. As AMD relies heavily on TSMC for chip fabrication, these manufacturing hikes will likely force retail price increases across the entire hardware ecosystem for global consumers.
