AMD has released two versions of the Radeon RX 9050 under the same model name, featuring 4 GB and 8 GB memory configurations. While both share 16 Compute Units and a 2,600 MHz boost clock, the 4 GB OEM-only model is 27 percent slower on average in 1080p tests.
Hardware Unboxed testing shows the 8 GB variant averaging 107 FPS, while the 4 GB version hits 78 FPS. The 4 GB model features a 64-bit interface and 144 GB/s bandwidth, half that of the 8 GB version, and trails the Intel Arc B570 in overall gaming performance.
The disparity is stark in titles like 007: First Light, where the 8 GB card is 53 percent faster. Unlike Nvidia's RTX 3050 6 GB which reduces power to 70W, both RX 9050 variants maintain a 92W board power and require an 8-pin connector despite the performance gap.
