AMD RDNA 5 GPU Architecture Targeted for Late 2027

AMD plans to launch its RDNA 5 GPU architecture in late 2027, potentially debuting at Computex to compete with NVIDIA's RTX 60 series.

Leaker Kepler_L2 reports that AMD is targeting the latter part of 2027 for the launch of its RDNA 5 GPU architecture. Computex 2027, scheduled for early June, is identified as the earliest possible timeline for the debut of this next-generation hardware family.

The RDNA 5 AT2 variant is expected to feature between 40 and 70 Compute Units. While memory manufacturers will mass-produce 4 GB and 6 GB GDDR7 chips within two years, Kepler_L2 states that the RDNA 5 lineup will not utilize the 4 GB GDDR7 memory modules.

AMD is not expected to release the full RDNA 5 stack in 2027, suggesting a staggered rollout. This timeline positions the launch ahead of NVIDIA's Rubin-based RTX 60 series, which is currently anticipated to arrive on the consumer market sometime in 2028.
