Apple is expected to launch a new compact tablet, colloquially known as the iPad Mini 8, in late October 2026. According to Mark Gurman, this device will succeed the 2024 iPad Mini 7 and represents the first model in the lineup to feature an OLED screen.
The upcoming tablet is tipped to feature the A20 Pro chipset, the same silicon powering the iPhone 18 Pro. Other rumored hardware upgrades include a reworked speaker system and a new front-facing camera location to improve the overall user experience.
While the iPad Mini 7 debuted at $599, the iPad Mini 8 could see a price hike to $799 due to rising memory costs. This shift positions the compact OLED tablet as a premium offering alongside other 2026 hardware like the M5 MacBook Air priced at $1,099.
