Minisforum Unveils S5 All-Flash Passively Cooled NAS

Minisforum's S5 NAS features an Intel Core 3 304 processor, five M.2 NVMe slots for 40TB of storage, and 10GbE networking in a silent chassis.

Minisforum revealed the S5 all-flash NAS at Computex 2026, a passively cooled machine featuring an aluminum chassis. The device is powered by an Intel Core 3 304 processor from the Wildcat Lake family and is expected to launch officially in mid-October.

The Intel Core 3 304 chip includes five cores, featuring one Cougar Cove P-core and four low-power Darkmont cores with a 4.3 GHz boost clock. The S5 supports 12 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory and runs MinisCloud OS to manage its high-performance hardware stack.

Equipped with five M.2 NVMe slots, the S5 supports up to 40 TB of storage using 8 TB drives. Connectivity is robust, offering 10GbE and 2.5GbE Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, two 40 Gbps USB4 ports, HDMI, and USB Type-A for versatile high-speed networking and data transfers.
