NVIDIA Raises Shield TV Pro Price to $299.99

NVIDIA increases the Shield TV Pro price and discontinues the standard model to focus on high-end performance amid rising component costs.

NVIDIA has announced a significant price hike for the Shield TV Pro, raising the cost to $299.99 from its original $199.99 MSRP. Alongside this increase, the company is officially discontinuing the standard Shield TV model to focus on the Pro variant.

The price adjustment stems from rising component costs, specifically regarding DRAM. The Shield TV Pro features the Tegra X1 SoC with a 256-core GPU, 3 GB of memory, and 16 GB of storage, supporting 4K HDR, Dolby Vision, and AI-enhanced upscaling tech.

This shift marks a major change for the lineup that debuted in 2015. While NVIDIA continues to supply SoCs for the Nintendo Switch, it is streamlining its own hardware offerings to prioritize high-end performance despite the increased market entry price.
