Autonomous trucking startup PlusAI recently reported the theft of two trailers from outside its warehouse facility. The trailers, which prominently feature both PlusAI and Nvidia branding, were discovered abandoned just a half-mile away from the site.
Spokesperson Lauren Kwan confirmed the trailers were secured with hand locks while the truck cabs remained safe inside. An executive was alerted to their location by an acquaintance who spotted the branded equipment parked near their own place of work.
Each trailer was loaded with 20,000 pounds of sand, totaling 40,000 pounds used for real-world simulation tests. All cargo remained intact upon recovery, ensuring the startup can continue its collaborative development of self-driving systems with Nvidia.
