Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon Sound Elite Gen 2 platform at the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii. Replacing the 2023 S7 Gen 1, this new hardware features a 30% smaller footprint, 40% lower power draw, and double the AI processing capacity of its predecessor.
The platform integrates a micro-power Wi-Fi 6E module and dual Bluetooth 7.0 radios with Expanded Personal Area Network technology. It includes three audio DSPs, a low-latency ANC DSP, a multi-core processor, and the Qualcomm eNPU Accelerator and Framework.
Supporting 24-bit 96kHz aptX Lossless audio, the chip targets earbuds, smart glasses, and hearing wellness devices. Partners like Cleer and Qobuz back the platform, which utilizes 5th-gen Adaptive ANC and Audio Sense processing for high-fidelity performance.
