Alibaba Unveils Massive AI Infrastructure Roadmap

Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu announces plans for ten-trillion parameter AI models and new high-performance hardware to reach 20GW capacity by 2032.

At the Apsara Conference in Hangzhou, Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu Yongming detailed a massive AI infrastructure roadmap. The company is training its Qwen 4 model and plans Qwen 5 with up to ten trillion parameters, dwarfing the current 2.4 trillion in Qwen 3.8-Max.

Alibaba will launch the Zhenwu V900 AI accelerator in Q1 2027, featuring 216GB HBM and triple the performance of the M890. Subsidiary T-Head is also developing the Yitian 730 processor, which will debut a proprietary microarchitecture for a 40% performance gain.

These hardware advances support Alibaba's goal of 20 gigawatts of data center capacity by 2032. This expansion aligns with China's national strategy to make the intelligent economy a primary growth driver by 2030 and reach full societal integration by 2035.
