A Redditor who sent a white ROG Strix OC for RMA received a significant upgrade after a lengthy resolution process. Asus initially deemed the original card unrepairable and sent a black TUF Gaming as a replacement, which did not match the user's all-white PC build, leading to a six-week escalation.
Following management intervention, Asus approved a ROG Astral RTX 5080 White OC as the final replacement. The user returned the black TUF model, and Asus provided Standard Overnight shipping at no extra cost to expedite the delivery. This resolution followed over a month of email communication to ensure the hardware matched the user's aesthetic.
The upgrade is notable as the RTX 5080 outperforms the RTX 4080 Super in benchmarks and offers expanded access to the latest DLSS technology. By securing the white ROG Astral variant, the user gained superior performance and modern features while maintaining their specific build theme, marking a successful outcome for the customer.
