Micron has officially halted production of its 2 GB GDDR7 memory chips, marking the 28 Gbps and 32 Gbps variants as End of Life. The company previously supplied the 28 Gbps MT68A512M32DF-28:A modules for select NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards.
While Micron joined the supplier list in mid-2025, its chips were notably spotted on RTX 50 hardware as recently as February 2026. Samsung and SK Hynix remain active suppliers for the series, while Micron continues to produce higher-capacity 3 GB modules.
This shift occurs as NVIDIA implements multiple price hikes for GPU-memory bundles in 2026. The industry is now looking toward the future, with memory manufacturers reportedly preparing 4 GB and 6 GB GDDR7 modules for release between 2027 and 2028.
