Chinese chipmakers and have successfully stockpiled critical lithography tools from ASML to support expansion plans for the next three years. The Financial Times reports that these firms secured DUV systems despite increasing geopolitical pressure.
The U.S. government is currently urging the Dutch government to halt exports while proposing the bipartisan MATCH Act. This bill could force allies to ban older DUV machine exports, potentially impacting nearly one-fifth of ASML's projected annual revenue.
Domestically, Shanghai Yuliangsheng Technology began limited production of immersion DUV systems in July. The firm aims to deliver 12 systems this year, collaborating with local fabs to accelerate China's independent semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.
